JLCNY In the News

May 7, 2011

The Joint Landowners Coalition of New York is sponsoring a public meeting entitled "Marcellus Shale in Our Community: what's in it for all of us" on the issue of natural gas exploration in the Marcellus Shale. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Owego/Apalachin Middle School Auditorium located at 3 Sheldon Guile Boulevard in Owego.

Property owners as well as other area village residents interested in understanding the broad community benefits of future natural gas exploration are encouraged to attend.

Professionals in the industry will address the following topics: taxation, jobs, geology, current drilling practices, gas migration and water use. A question and answer period will follow.

This educational event is free and open to the public, but donations to the JLCNY are appreciated to help offset public education costs. Call (607) 757-9410 for questions or more information.
