I received the following highlighted rally information just a short while ago from Rob Astorino's campaign manager. I hope all landowners can turn out to support Rob Astorino and Chris Moss's final drive to the Governorship and Natural Gas development in NY! I'm looking forward to being there myself! I'm excited to share that we're holding a pre-election day rally with Rob Astorino and Chris Moss in Binghamton on Friday at 11 AM at the Holiday Inn-Downtown. Please help us spread the word to like-minded supporters so we have a huge crowd to show Rob and Chris how strongly Broome County backs them. I hope to you see you there on Friday. Thanks. Bijoy Datta, Deputy Campaign Manager Astorino for Governor/Moss for Lt. Governor 607.768.7088 bijoy@robastorino.com The flier that we were sent is also attached for you to share with fellow Natural Gas Supporters. I would also like to recap some of the election information we have shared so far this fall. This year, local elections will be more important than ever. Those opposed to natural gas development are actively trying to place their candidates on local boards. Electing pro gas candidates at the local level will be crucial. Please consult your local landowner coalition for information about your local elections. Maintaining a Republican Senate is crucial to our efforts. Here is a link to an article “If Democrats Take Majority, Senate Would Take Up Fracking Bills”. If Democrats take majority, Senate would take up fracking bills | Capital New York Republican control of the Senate decreases the chances that anti gas legislation will make it to the Senate floor. This November, we must set aside party affiliations and vote for Pro-Gas Republicans in the New York State Senate. It's going to be close. We can't afford to lose any one of the Senate races. John Cahill is running for Attorney General. He is a former DEC commissioner. We need John to replace Eric Schneiderman. Schneiderman has been working against us since he took office. Prior to taking office, he vowed to sue to prevent drilling; he started a frivolous lawsuit against the DRBC as soon as he took office; and he was ecstatic about court rulings and the denial of justice to our 70,000 landowners calling the decisions against landowners an “important victory” for all New Yorkers. Please vote John Cahill for Attorney General. Voting is a personal decision based on each individual’s experience and interests. At the end of this correspondence is a list of endorsements by the Joint Landowners Coalition of New York, Inc. for several important elections to distribute. Each candidate we have endorsed has shown a commitment to landowner rights and is vital in moving our agenda forward. Our endorsements signal the JLCNY’s strong belief that we should support those candidates who stand up for our rights in the face of tremendous pressure and misinformation This list is meant to inform you of the candidates who support natural gas development. Obviously there are other issues of importance to our members. Our task is simply to educate you about the issues of our limited concern - oil and gas development. However you make your decisions on the political candidates, we urge you to exercise your right to vote on November 4, 2014. Please share this list with other voters, and thank you for your support and participation in the coming election.
