John Cahill is running for New York State Attorney General. I can’t think of anyone better suited to be the top law enforcement official in New York.
John needs our help to unseat the current AG, Eric Schneiderman, and the special interests that want to keep him in office. Eric Schneiderman has been working against us since he took office. Prior to taking office, he vowed to sue to prevent drilling; he started a frivolous lawsuit against the DRBC as soon as he took office; and last week, he was ecstatic about recent court rulings and the denial of justice to our 70,000 landowners calling the decisions an “important victory” for all New Yorkers.
John Cahill understands the issues facing us and has been an outspoken advocate for issues since he announced. Here is a portion of his impressive resume:
Commissioner of the DEC from 1997 to 2001
General Counsel to the DEC from 1995 to 1997
Chief of Staff to the Governor of New York State from 2002 to 2006
Senior Policy Advisor to the Governor for the state's response to the attacks of September 11th, 2001, responsible for negotiations with the state legislature, as well as the Governor's point of contact with the White House, Congress and federal agencies.
John Cahill has the experience to be a fantastic Attorney General for New York – and he is on our side! As Attorney General, John Cahill will protect our environment, without scaring away jobs and investment and he will support the safe extraction of natural gas from the Marcellus Shale.
And most importantly, John can win. He has been in the race for only 8 weeks and raised over 1 million dollars. But the New York City interests will rally to Schneiderman's aid and we need to step up to help. Every contribution helps, large and small.
